The United States wants Greece to send fighter jets to Crete

The United States has sent an official request to the Greek government to deploy F-35 and F-15 fighter jets in Crete, Turkey's Ulusal Kanal reported.

According to the report, Athens has received the request and is preparing a response, and if confirmed, the US Air Force will be sent to the Souda base on the coast of Crete.

As stated, US aircraft are expected to participate in exercises in the Mediterranean.

At the same time, the United States and Greece are discussing strengthening defense options in the Rhodes, Lesbos and Chios islands with the help of NATO or US weapons.
